Breeders’ Cup Returns to Del Mar for Consecutive Years in 2024 and 2025

Breeders’ Cup Returns to Del Mar for Consecutive Years in 2024 and 2025

The prestigious Breeders’ Cup will grace the Del Mar racetrack for two consecutive years, as organizers announced the selection of the oceanside venue for the 2024 and 2025 editions of the international championships.

Famous for its tagline “Where the turf meets the surf,” Del Mar in San Diego County served as the host in 2017 and 2021. This decision ensures that the event will unfold in Southern California for three consecutive years, following the recently concluded championships at Santa Anita Park.

“Our return to Del Mar in back-to-back years marks the continuation of a splendid collaboration and a successful partnership, both with our colleagues at the track and the broader San Diego area. It underscores our unwavering dedication to California horse racing,” remarked Drew Fleming, Breeders’ Cup president and CEO.

The Breeders’ Cup World Championships features 14 Grade 1 races spread across two days, attracting top-notch talent in the world of horse racing.

Last weekend’s spectacle drew an impressive 109,624 fans to Santa Anita Park in Los Angeles County, culminating in the triumph of White Abarrio in the $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic.

Looking ahead, the 41st edition of this esteemed event is slated for November 1-2 next year.
